Sam Caywood is a leadership advisor and communications strategist based in Washington, DC. Sam helps clients craft strategies incorporating digital media, media relations, thought leadership, persuasive writing, and holistic communications, and manages teams that execute those strategies. He has worked with clients across industries, including higher education, social impact, software, finance, spacetech, insurance and more. He has helped lead communications campaigns around IPOs, advised on quarterly earnings reports, and planned client investor days. His writings have been published in outlets including Time, Fortune and Fast Company magazines, among many others.
Sam serves as a Digital Strategist for Greater Good Strategy, where he manages the creation of digital marketing campaigns and assets for nonprofits. Previously, he was a Senior Director at Laurel Strategies, where he advised CEOs and their C-suites on strategy, messaging, and positioning. Prior to that, he was an Assistant Analyst at Hart Research Associates, where he conducted and analyzed in-depth market and public opinion research, and has worked on statewide campaigns in North Carolina and Virginia.
Sam holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Policy from Duke University’s Sanford School of Public Policy.
