Tenley D. Peterson

Tenley D. Peterson has more than 12 years of experience in communications and management with a proven track record of developing and implementing innovative and effective digital communications strategies. Tenley has expertise in nonprofit, advocacy, K-12 education, and international environments, and she has worked and lived in Singapore, China, DC, and London. Her work has been recognized with awards, including a Leadership Center for Excellence 40 Under 40 honor, a Women’s Information Network Young Women of Achievement Award for Leadership, a Web Marketing Association Award for Best Advocacy Mobile Website, and a Convio Innovator Award for Best Online Campaign.

Tenley graduated summa cum laude from Bryant University with a bachelors in business administration, focusing on marketing and computer information systems. She graduated with a masters in Asian studies from the University of Hawaii. For seven years, she learned the ways of the U.S. Navy and submarine force as the spouse of a naval officer.

Tenley is an appointee to Arlington County’s Planning Commission, where she leads community engagement projects and advises the county board on land use. She also served on Arlington County’s Fiscal Affairs Advisory Commission for eight years, 3.5 of which she chaired the commission. She lives with her husband and three children in Arlington.
