GGS is looking for a Business Development Manager!
We are seeking someone who LOVES sales and dreaming up projects to meet client needs, lives for meeting new people, is a great communicator (both written and verbal), and is a detail-oriented and organized teammate.
Greater Good Strategy is a women- and nonbinary-led digital marketing, social media, and online fundraising agency. We work primarily with nonprofits to drive awareness, action, and positive social change. We’ve helped our clients raise millions of dollars, launch new brands and new programs, build new websites, and keep their email and social channels vibrant and engaging. After celebrating 5 years in business and making plans for the next 5 years, we’re hiring our first-ever Business Development Manager to build a new foundation for our sales process and to work with our Executive Team to expand and grow our amazing client base.
This job includes the following tasks:
- Writing compelling, friendly, and customized proposals that are: responsive to RFPs or pitch calls, consistent in voice, and provide detail on marketing, fundraising, and other agency capabilities;
- Tracking opportunities and proposals in our internal CRM, ensuring proposals are prepared with time to review and submit before deadline;
- Developing a deep understanding of the agency's capabilities, services, and competitive advantages to effectively communicate these in presentations and proposals;
- Arranging meetings for the new business team, including discovery calls, pitches, and internal meetings as needed. Preparing pre-meeting summaries or materials as needed to ensure a successful call;
- Managing the proposal and opportunity review process with members of the Executive Team, including soliciting expert feedback as needed;
- Following up with Executive Team and clients as needed;
- Attending, note-taking, and eventually leading sales calls with clients or potential clients;
- Attending and participating in internal and external project kickoff calls;
- Ensuring robust information handoff for contracting and project staffing;
- Potential other duties as needed / assigned.
Skills requested:
- 5-8+ years of experience writing business proposals and responding to RFPs and other opportunities;
- Professional experience working in a creative agency or sales environment;
- Understanding of marketing/fundraising/advertising projects, and familiarity with general industry terminology and systems;
- Ability to manage, prioritize, and execute multiple projects and tasks;
- Comfortable in an environment with shifting priorities and deadlines;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including interacting with clients;
- Extremely organized and detail-oriented;
- Comfortable taking the lead and collaborating with multiple individuals to achieve objectives;
- Experience managing the sales funnel and operations in a CRM;
- Familiarity with Canva, Hubspot, Monday.com, and Google Workspace a plus!
Here’s what you can expect:
- A full-time role (40 hours per week) reporting to the Managing Director and closely collaborating with the full Executive Team;
- Part-time considered for the right candidate
- Flexible schedule, but must be available during standard East Coast business hours at least ~20 hours per week
- Fully remote (work from anywhere…and we mean ANYWHERE);

- Salary range from $80,000-$100,000/year depending on experience;
- We do not base our salaries on commission.
